The Hunting design- Shekargah design in Persian- is one of the original designs of Persian rug art, that originates from the culture and civilization of ancient Iran. The era when the Achaemenid and Sasanian kings were very interested in hunting animals in the Iranian plains. In the design of the Hunting on the Persian rug is woven the motifs of the kings on the horseback in traditional clothes, hunting various animals such as deer, gazelle and some other animals in the vast plains. Master Ali Rashtizadeh, the founder of Qom silk rug has revived the forgotten design of Shekargah and woven it into a silk rug. An important point in the design is the inscriptions on the border of the rug, in which the famous ghazal number 173 of the Hafez, Persian poet. The Shekargah rug, due to its antiquity and uniqueness, is one of the valuable and museum masterpieces of the Rashtizadeh Rug collection.
