Introduction

Guereh Talaei Giti Gostar Company, with the trademark “Iran-Guereh”, officially launched its operations in Spring 2019 as the first comprehensive, practical, and strategic information reference in the field of Persian handwoven carpets. This came after five years (2014–2018) of research and study focused on the issues, challenges, and requirements of the handwoven carpet field.

Iran-Guereh has taken steps toward establishing a center dedicated to implementing practical solutions for existing challenges in the handwoven carpet sector and for aligning artistic, cultural, scientific, and applied activities in this field. Our aim is to revive, advance, and further develop the art of Persian rugs, fueled by the creative thinking of an innovative and forward-looking team. Iran-Guereh strives toward valuable and attainable goals, making use of the best opportunities and solutions to enhance and elevate the position of handwoven carpet art and culture throughout the world.

Our mission is to create strong connections among stakeholders in the handwoven carpet ecosystem, generate economic opportunities for them, and build effective relationships between these stakeholders and carpet enthusiasts.
The three core principles of Iran-Guereh — Authenticity, Transparency, and Dignity — are deeply rooted in our organizational philosophy, and full commitment to these values remains crucial in all of our activities and programs.
 

Our Missions

Since Iran-Guereh began its journey with the formation of a research team in 2014 — composed of graduates in rug studies and management to identify industry challenges and provide solutions — the organization defines its three primary missions as:

• Conducting research, analysis, and identifying existing issues and emerging challenges facing the art of Persian handwoven carpets

• Proposing practical and effective solutions capable of addressing current problems and future threats

• Implementing those solutions through dedicated infrastructure and platforms designed for user access and industry benefit

• Considering Iran-Guereh’s broad vision toward transforming the future of Persian handwoven carpets, several important goals — both large and small — have been defined. Key objectives include:

• Providing practical, service-based solutions for major issues in the handwoven carpet field

• Establishing a trusted and comprehensive reference for artistic, cultural, scientific, economic, and social aspects of Persianhandwoven carpets

• Creating economic opportunities for all stakeholders in the carpet ecosystem

• Verifying the authenticity, identity, and ownership of handwoven carpets

• Creating a platform for issuing authentication and ownership certificates for handwoven carpets, validated by certified authorities and expert assessors

• Offering dedicated websites to professional gallerists under the Iran-Guereh domain for showcasing and selling handwoven carpets

• Providing a public-facing marketplace titled “Timcheh Gallery” for display and sale of handwoven carpets

• Organizing conferences, seminars, exhibitions, competitions, and gatherings related to the industry

• Conducting practical and scientific carpet research and publishing outcomes in books, journals, magazines, etc.

• Unveiling the first-ever NFT inspired by handwoven carpets at Ketex 2022 (Kish) and Index 2022 (Dubai)

• Establishing ARK Carpet Gallery in Dubai as a dedicated artistic showcase

• Holding over 50 specialized exhibitions and galleries inside and outside Iran

• Organizing 8 editions of the Golden Knot Festival in Qom and Tehran

• Hosting 4 national competitions in handwoven carpet design and painting

• Organizing the first “Sarenakh” event — discussion and critique of contemporary Iranian carpets — to promote critical culture in this art form

• Authoring and publishing the first English book on Iranian carpet artists for Expo 2020 Dubai
