Lecture by Dr. Jhuleh, researcher and expert in handwoven carpets
About 353 years ago, where we do not know where it was, maybe near Qom, maybe Joshqan somewhere in the area, a number of artists and artists are very artistic and in their time, that is, 353 years ago, very modern and modern, those who were far ahead of their time. They break and put aside and do great work. After the death of Shah Abbas II, who is in the shrine of Imam Masoumeh, his tomb is a 12-sided room, furnished in 1082 AH to one of the seven wonders of the rug weaving world. Nearly 85 years later, the first international introduction of this rug takes place. 353 years ago, some people came together who were definitely architects, painters, modern people who broke with tradition, and certainly an art director who cut it. We know him because he wrote his name on the rug. Nematullah Joshaghani, under the supervision of this great artist, created a rug in 14 pieces, that is, he created a large puzzle with an approximate area of about 60 square meters at that time. These 14 pieces of rug are the 2 main pieces and the middle of the rug we will call it is 51 square meters. That is, 353 years ago, 51 square meters of maps were drawn by hand without asymmetry, and finally in 2 pieces that were placed together and formed the main piece and had 12 sides.
