The term English stand that is now used among the world with different meanings, including: the accepted sample, the unified, the extent, the scale of measurement, determining the value and quality, the model, something that has a formal profile, in the definition of the standard set of rules and regulations that are essential in the context of the needs of the human society, obtaining the same scientific and technical requirements. ويصنف المعيار بطرق مختلفة: )١( أحجام وأبعاد مثل حجم السجادة )السجادة والزهرة وما إلى ذلك( التي لم تنجز في إيران)٢(. وقد وسعت الحضارة والروابط بين مجتمعات اليوم نطاق المعيار ونفذت ممارسة من الإنجازات البشرية الأخرى. وهذا المعيار هو أحد أهم فروع العلم والصناعة والإنتاج والتجارة، والتنمية والتقدم في ذلك اليوم.
